The OneBAT project was represented at the 9th World One Health Congress (WOHC 2026) in Lisbon, bringing project-related research to one of the leading international events dedicated to the One Health approach.

Researchers from the ERI-CIBU bat team at Institut Pasteur presented three scientific posters showcasing research carried out over nearly three years, including activities developed within the OneBAT project. The contributions were presented by Laurent Dacheux, Lucie Cappuccio, Victoire Perraud and Angela Brisebarre, highlighting the team’s work on bats and their role in the circulation and transmission of pathogens.

The conference also provided an opportunity to strengthen connections within the OneBAT consortium, with Zsófia Lanszki from the University of Pécs, a project partner, also attending the event.

Beyond the project consortium, WOHC 2026 offered valuable opportunities for scientific exchange with researchers and institutions working on bats, viruses, hantaviruses and emerging infectious diseases worldwide. These interactions contribute to strengthening international collaboration and knowledge exchange across disciplines, in line with the One Health approach at the core of OneBAT.

Participation in WOHC 2026 represents another important opportunity for OneBAT researchers to disseminate project results, engage with the international scientific community and foster new connections in the field of bat-borne diseases and emerging health threats.
