Dr Simon Scott, from the University of Kent, recently delivered a lecture at the University of Pécs in Hungary, contributing to academic exchange and knowledge sharing in the field of bat research and surveillance.
During his lecture, Dr Scott presented the OneBAT project, offering an overview of its objectives, ongoing activities, and the work carried out by the consortium so far. The presentation also highlighted the main results achieved to date, with a focus on the project’s contribution to improving bat sanitary surveillance within a One Health framework.
The session provided a valuable opportunity to engage with students and researchers, fostering discussion around the importance of monitoring bat populations and understanding their role in the transmission of zoonotic diseases.
