On 2–3 June 2025, the OneBAT project took part in the Spring School “Connecting European Expertise for Pandemic Preparedness” in Leuven, Belgium.
Organised by KU Leuven within the framework of the EU project PCR-4-ALL and under the Leuven One Health initiative, the event brought together 13 European research projects working on diagnostics, virology, epidemiology, and pandemic response.
OneBAT was featured in the session “Zoonotic spillover and initial steps in disease emergence”. Project coordinator Paola De Benedictis, from the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, gave an overview of OneBAT’s objectives and current progress, with a focus on virus transmission dynamics involving bats and potential health risks.
The Spring School offered a great opportunity for dissemination, knowledge exchange, and networking with other Horizon Europe projects, paving the way for future synergies and collaboration.
